TAM Week 50: Colors continues to lead; Ten Sports claims the throne

Colors stood strong at the lead position with 398 GVTs; followed by rival Star Plus with 364 GVTs. Zee TV returned to third spot with 276 GVTs, while Sony Sab slipped to fourth position with 242 GVTs.
Sony Entertainment climbed to fifth spot with 218 GVTs, while Life Ok slipped to sixth position with 190 GVTs.&TV and Zee Anmol remained at seventh and eighth spot with 125 and 59 GVTs, respectively.
Sony Pal stood at ninth position with 47 GVTs, followed by Star Utasav and rishtey with 42 and 41 GVTs, respectively.
English entertainment
FX maintained its lead with 5 GVTs, while AXN and Star World stood strong at second and third spot with 3 and 2 GVTs, respectively.
Hindi movies
With 178 GVTs, Sony Max led the chart once again. Star Gold climbed to second position with 144 GVTs, while Zee Cinema slipped to third spot with 135 GVTs.
English movies
Star Movies retained its top spot with 12 GVTs, followed by Movies Now and HBO with 8 GVTs each.
Hindi news
AajTak stood strong at lead position with 38 GVTs; while ABP News climbed to second spot with 29 GVTs. Zee News occupied 29 GVTs.
English News
Times Now and India Today TV stood with 2 GVTs, each; while CNN IBN occupied 1 GVTs.
Music
Mastiii topped the chart once again with 33 GVTs, followed by 9XM and Sony Mix with 32 and 28 GVTs, respectively.
Infotainment
Discovery Channel maintained its lead spot with 27 GVTs. National Geographic remained at second position with 22 GVTs, followed by History TV18 with 17 GVTs.
Sports
Ten Sports claimed the throne with 36 GVTs; while Star Sports3 slipped to second position with 32 GVTs. Star Sports1 remained at third spot with 27 GVTs.
Kids
Nick led the chart once again with 116 GVTs, followed by Pogo and Hungama with 100 and 85 GVTs, respectively.

BARC Week 49: Zee Anmol& Star Sports3 claims the throne

With 779821 GVTs, Zee Anmol claimed the throne. Star Plus climbed to second position with 751510 GVTs. Last week’s topper Colors slipped to third spot with 746799 GVTs, followed by Zee TV with 718536 GVTs.
Star Utsav and Life OK remained at fifth and sixth position with 568630 and 474327 GVTs, respectively. Sister channels Sony Entertainment and Sony Sab retained their respective positions with 429400 and 356366 GVTs, respectively.At ninth position was Rishtey with 305570 GVTs, followed by Sony Pal with 302045 GVTs.
Top shows

Mastiii stood strong at top spot with 139947 GVTs. B4U Music remained at second position with 96074 GVTs, followed by 9XM with 84633 GVTs.

With 14108 GVTs, Zing maintained its lead position, followed by MTV and Bindass with 13531 and 10068 GVTs, respectively.
Zoom remained at fourth spot with 5886 and Channel V stood at fifth position with 5540 GVTs.

Discovery Channel stood strong at the top spot with 5266 GVTs. History TV18 remained at second spot with 3484 GVTs, followed by National Geographic Channel with 2982 GVTs.
Animal Planet and Nat Geo Wild stood at fourth and fifth spot with 2716 and 1453 GVTs, respectively..

BARC Week 49 English Genre: AXN, Times Now leads the English genre

Colors Infinity SD stood at fourth position with 48 GVTs and Comedy Central occupied fifth spot with 47 GVTs.
News channels
Times Now continued to lead with 322 GVTs. NDTV 24×7 remained at second spot with 237 GVTs, followed by India Today TV with 291 GVTs.
At fourth and fifth position were CNN IBN and News9 with 201n and 159 GVTs, respectively.
Business news
CNBC TV18 topped the chart with 205 GVTs. ET Now was stood at second position with 172 GVTs, followed by NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime with 70 GVTs.
Bloomberg TV occupied fourth spot with 10 GVTs.
Movies
With 1834 GVTs, Star Movie led the chart. At second position was Movies Now with 1503 GVTs, followed by Sony Pix and HBO with 1157 and 1138 GVTs, respectively.
Zee Studio stood at fifth position with 793 GVTs.

BARC Week 49 Regional Mapping: Zee Marathi, Colors Kannada & Star Jalsha tops the regional chart

Zee Marathi led the chart with 145301 GVTs. Colors Marathi stood at second spot with 80690 GVTs, followed by Zee Talkies and Star Parvah with 57811 and 41435 GVTs, respectively. DD Sahyadri stood at fifth position with 19008 GVTs.
Bangla
Star Jalsha claimed the throne with 228859 GVTs. At second spot was Zee Bangla with 162105 GVTs. Jalsha Movies stood at third position with 68361 GVTs, followed by Colors Bangla and Zee Bangla Cinema with 37549 and 31155 GVTs, respectively.
Bhojpuri
Bhojpuri Cinema topped the chart with 20488 GVTs, followed by Big Magic Ganga and Dangal TV with 17196 and 9517 GVTs, respectively.
Dabangg stood at fourth position with 5728 GVTs and ETV Bihar Jharkhand was at fifth spot with 3201 GVTs.
Oriya
Sarthak TV continued to lead with 113465 GVTs, while Tarang TV stood at second position with 58075 GVTs. COlors Oriya was at third spot with 20289 GVTs, followed by Odisha TV and Prarthana with 15850 and 12351 GVTs, respectively.
Telugu
ETV Telugu topped the chart once again with 420239 GVTs. Zee Telugu and Maa TV occupied second and third position with 340131 and 339978 GVTs, respectively.
Gemini TV stood at fourth spot with 255875 GVTs, followed by Gemini Movies with 180736 GVTs.
Kannada
Colors Kannada stood strong at top spot with 302974 GVTs, followed by Survana and Udaya Movies with 141271 and 130501 GVTs, respectively.
Zee Kannada was at fourth spot with 125042 GVTs and at fifth position was Udaya TV with 118442 GVTs.
Malayalam
With 376542 GVTs, Asianet maintained its lead. Mazhavil Manorama stood at second position with 99395 GVTs, followed by Surya TV with 80013 GVTs.
Flowers TV occupied fourth spot with 68404 GVTs and Asianet Movies stood at fifth position with 53985 GVTs.

SPN India launches Sony Max HD

SonyMax1Sony Pictures Networks Television India (SPN) launched Sony Max HD. The channel will go on air from 25th December 2015. Within the industry, it has been noted that the premium HD channels have recorded ten-fold top line growth according to the 2015 FICCI KPMG report.
Speaking on the launch, Neeraj Vyas, Senior EVP, Sony Max&Sony Max2, said, “It has been our constant endeavor to provide viewers an experiential, entertaining and unique television movie viewing experience and the launch of our HD channel takes our obsession for movies to a whole new level. With its own unique movie lineup independent of MAX, the channel will strike a chord with the aspiring audience who yearn for that cinematic viewing experience in the comfort of their homes. Offering an interesting bouquet of Hindi movies, the channel is guaranteed to enthrall Bollywood fans across India”.
To celebrate the season’s festivities Max HD will showcase films such as Bahubali, PK, Queen, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Ram Leela and Aashiqui. The channel will be available across multiple DTH and leading digital cable platforms.
